Job summary

Code Camp Ltd in Inner West Sydney seeks casual facilitators/educators to run after-school tech programs for primary school children aged 5-12. This role suits uni students studying Education, Software Engineering, or related fields, offering hands-on experience delivering engaging lessons.

You will use our lesson plans, work with a small class, and receive paid training and ongoing support from our online tech-support team.

Qualifications

• No specific degree required; willingness to obtain an Employee Working With Children Check.
• Experience with or around children aged 5–12 is essential.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in STEM and creative tech.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging tech lessons from provided plans to small classes.
• Assist with classroom management and student engagement.
• Participate in paid training and ongoing support.
• Commit to one weekly shift for eight weeks in local schools.

Looking for a fun and flexible casual job that will work around your schedule? Code Camp is Australia’s leading provider of school holiday and after-school tech programs, and we’re currently hiring facilitators/educators!

This role is ideal for uni students, for example, studying Education, Software Engineering, Video Game Development, etc. looking for hands‑on experience working with kids while building confidence and skills in tech and leadership.

Is this you?

• Experienced or interested in working with primary school aged children (5-12)




• Passionate about STEM + creative fields such as coding, Minecraft, animation + more




• Able to work short shifts: approximately 3pm - 5pm once a week over 8 weeks at a school near you




• Enthusiastic staff who feel confident speaking in front of a group, is enthusiastic and a good problem solver




• Trustworthy, independent, punctual and reliable

About the position:

• Able to work in Inner West Sydney suburbs + reliably commute to shifts


• You will be provided our fun easy‑to‑follow lesson plan to deliver to a small class of primary‑aged children


• Paid training provided as well as constant support from a our online tech‑support team


• Staff are required to supply their own Laptop and HDMI adapter for personal use

Required Skills/Certifications:

While we don’t require a specific degree, you should have some or all of the following:

• Valid Employee Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain immediately)


• Prior experience working with or being around young kids (aged 5 - 12) is essential as this role involves leading a class


• Tech‑savvy with an interest in science, tech and creativity


• Mature outlook and ability to supervise children


• Great customer service when speaking to school staff or parents


• Fluent conversational English
