Job summary

Venn Milner in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Tax and Business Services Manager with a clear partner pathway. You will work closely with business owners and individual clients, delivering tailored accounting and taxation solutions.

This role involves managing a portfolio across industries, mentoring junior staff, and building long-term client relationships while using modern cloud-based systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years in Australian public practice accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for a variety of entities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Xero and cloud accounting platforms.
• CA qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing (and some preparation of) financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, superannuation funds, and individuals.
• Managing a portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries.
• Providing proactive taxation and business advisory services.
• Assisting clients with cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reporting.
• Reviewing bookkeeping and assisting clients with cloud accounting systems, including Xero and MYOB.
• Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.
• Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and support business growth.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members as required.
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
