Job summary

Firmus Technologies is seeking a Project Manager - Capital Projects (Launceston) to lead the end-to-end delivery of a major Tasmanian project. You will manage from gateway to handover, directing consultants, contractors and vendors, while controlling cost, schedule and safety.

The role requires 6+ years delivering capital projects, with on-site leadership and strong governance. Based in Tasmania with regular site travel, you will report to the Senior Project Manager and drive design, procurement

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering/construction/PM qualification.
• Proven track record delivering capital projects.
• Experience managing on-site delivery from design to handover.
• Strong program and cost control capabilities.
• Contract administration across delivery models.
• Good knowledge of work health and safety.
• Experience coordinating consultants, head contractors and vendors.
• Familiarity with planning approvals and utility connections.
• Clear written and verbal communication with senior leadership.
• Knowledge of high-density compute environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Launceston project from gateway approval to handover within scope, budget, programme and safety requirements.
• Manage each project phase: feasibility, approvals, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and deployment.
• Prepare material for gateway/investment approvals with scope, cost, programme and risk.
• Progress planning approvals, utility connections and enabling works in line with the programme.
• Run day-to-day site delivery, coordinating trades and resolving on-site issues.
• Own and maintain the project programme and budget with project controls.
• Coordinate design development and manage all design, cost and schedule changes.
• Administer contracts, including scope, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Ensure safety, quality and compliance on site and in documentation.
• Engage stakeholders and coordinate with internal functions to align with business needs.
• Coordinate commissioning, acceptance testing and handover to operations.
