Job summary

Tenacity CX in Melbourne seeks a System Safety Engineer for a long-term, day-rate contract in the Australian Defence sector. The role requires NV1 clearance and will lead a team of engineers across requirements, design reviews, integration and certification.

You will apply risk management, develop SE plans, and support the Project Manager with resource estimates and regulatory compliance. The position is site-based in Melbourne with ongoing program duties.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years' experience as a Systems Engineer in the Defence sector.

• Knowledge of V&V plans and procedures.

• Experience with Hazard analysis and reports.
• ITAR compliant.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering effort across Electronics and Requirements Engineers for development, design, integration and certification.
• Lead planning and conduct for System Design Reviews and Detailed Design Reviews.
• Apply technical risk management and support PM with estimates for NRE work packages.
• Apply quality and configuration management per plans and QMS.
• Provide systems engineering services including requirements engineering, V&V, testing and performance measures.
• Develop and maintain System Engineering Management Plan and Technical Certification Plan.
• Manage requirements through project lifecycle.
• Develop and lead System Safety program; conduct design reviews and certification support.
• Plan and deliver engineering services, regulatory compliance, resource management and review contract deliverables.

Job description

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for an experience System Safety Engineer who holds NV1 or above clearance.

The role is being offered as a long-term day rate contract and will be based from client's site in Melbourne.

THE ROLE:

The Systems Engineer will manage engineering effort across a team of Electronics Engineers and Requirements Engineers to conduct development, design, integration and technical certification.

The Systems Engineer will lead the planning, preparation and conduct for System Design Reviews and Detailed Design Reviews.

The Systems Engineer will apply technical risk management and support the Project Manager with estimates of resources, materials and effort for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) work packages. The Systems Engineer will apply quality and configuration management in accordance will relevant plans and the Quality Management System.

KEY DUTIES:

The Service Provider shall provide systems engineering services associated with requirements engineering, engineering metrics, integration engineering, Verification and Validation (V&V), test and evaluation, and technical performance measures.

The required services may include:

• Conduct requirements analysis and development;
• Develop and maintain a Systems Engineering Management Plan for the project;
• Develop and maintain a Technical Certification Plan for the project;
• Manage a requirements set through the project lifecycle;
• Develop and lead a System Safety program for the project;
• Conduct and review design and implementation;
• Conduct certification and support;
• Plan and deliver engineering services, regulatory compliance,
• Resource management, and project outcomes; and conduct reviews of contract deliverables.

Experience and Skills Sought:

The Successful candidate must have prior experience in the following areas:

At least 8 years' experience working as a Systems Engineer gained in the Defence sector.

Experience with requirement development and management.

Well versed with V&V plans/procedures.

Ability to design documents and specialist engineering reports.

Prior experience with Hazard analysis and reports.

ITAR compliant

NV1 or above clearance

Essential Experience and / or Qualifications:

A qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years.

Highly Desirable Experience and / or Qualifications:

Extensive industry and specialty experience in electrical engineering and systems integration including integration on maritime platforms.

Experience with RF environments and wireless communications in contested communications or electronic warfare domains.

Experience in digital communications protocols and signal conversion techniques.

Experience driving processes and process improvements, including continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience with US Export Controls including Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) and Third Party Retransfer authorisations
