Green Light Worldwide have a requirement with our client partner for a System Engineer to join their team on a 3-month assignment with possible extensions.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and support enterprise backup and restore platforms (software & hardware).
• Handle backup/restore incidents, service requests, and change activities.
• Ensure system availability, integrity, security, and performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements.
• Maintain and improve system documentation, processes, and knowledge articles.
• Provide technical guidance and uplift for Service Desk teams.
• Ensure compliance with infrastructure, security, and QMS standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience with enterprise backup tools (Rapid Recovery, Veeam).
• Knowledge across VDI, Windows, Unix/Linux (RedHat), VMware, Hyper‑V, Citrix, networking fundamentals, and HP/Dell storage.
• Minimum 3 years in systems engineering, including monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to analyse and improve system performance proactively.
• Strong documentation and process development capabilities.
• Good communication and collaborative mindset.
• Desirable: Scripting (PowerShell, Python, VB), cloud (Azure/AWS), Agile/DevOps experience, vendor management.
• Degree in IT or related discipline, Systems Engineer certification, ITIL Practitioner.
• Desirable certifications: MCSE/MCSA, AWS DevOps Pro, SCCM experience.
