Job summary

Peoplebank seeks a skilled infrastructure and platform engineer in Sydney to design, develop and support virtualization and cloud-native solutions using Kubernetes, Ansible and Terraform. You will work with Go, Rust and Python to build reliable software, and contribute to data platforms like Elastic, OpenSearch and Kafka.

You will also help secure networking and firewall technologies while collaborating with architects and cross-functional teams on regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and automation tooling.
• Development experience in Go, Rust, Python or similar languages.
• Experience with data platforms such as Elastic, OpenSearch and Kafka.
• Knowledge of enterprise networking and firewall technologies.
• Australian Citizen with NV1, NV2 or PV clearance.

Join a team leveraging modern technologies to deliver secure, reliable solutions that support critical national capabilities and government partnerships. This role works closely with the stakeholders, Regulatory Programs, and cross-functional teams to support strategic regulatory initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support virtualised infrastructure platforms using Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain applications using modern programming languages, primarily Go and Rust.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation, system integration and platform engineering initiatives.
• Support data management and analytics platforms, including Elastic, OpenSearch and Kafka.
• Manage and maintain networking infrastructure, including Cisco networking and firewall technologies.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and project teams to design and implement technical solutions.
• Provide operational support across infrastructure, networking and application environments.
• Assist with system upgrades, performance optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure environments and virtualisation technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform and infrastructure automation.
• Development experience using Go, Rust, Python or comparable programming languages.
• Knowledge of data platforms such as Elastic, OpenSearch and Kafka.
• Experience supporting enterprise networking and firewall technologies.
• Australian Citizen with NV1, NV2 OR PV clearance
