Job summary

ProFound People is seeking a Systems Engineer in Adelaide to join a permanent role within the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will have proven Systems Engineering experience in aerospace/defence, strong MBSE skills, and the ability to lead or mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities include MBSE activities across the lifecycle, ICD development, configuration management, and preparing artefacts for SRR, PDR, and CDR.

Qualifications

• Experience in Systems Engineering within Aerospace/Defence sector.
• Strong requirements capture, decomposition, traceability and change management.
• Proven MBSE experience across product lifecycle.
• Experience with system integration, planning, and V&V.
• Experience with configuration and baseline management.

• Work across Model-Based Systems Engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and manage system interfaces.
• Support configuration management and baseline control.
• Produce and maintain systems engineering documentation and data packs.
• Prepare artefacts and evidence for design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
• Support continuous improvement and growth of the engineering function.

SALARY – $130,000 - $160,000 (Dependent on Experience)

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA (hybrid working is available)

My client designs complex, high-tech products and systems within the Defence sector. They are looking for a Systems Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

The Systems Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Proven experience in a Systems Engineering position within the Aerospace & Defence sector
• Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong experience with requirements engineering, including capture, decomposition, traceability, verification and change management
• Strong experience across Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience with system integration, integration planning, Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Experience with configuration management and baseline management processes
• Experience preparing engineering artefacts to support formal design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR and acceptance activities
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams would be highly desirable
• Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance

The Systems Engineer role will involve:

• Working across Model-Based Systems Engineering activities across the product development lifecycle
• Developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and managing system interfaces
• Supporting configuration management and baseline control throughout development
• Producing and maintaining systems engineering documentation and technical data packs
• Preparing engineering artefacts and technical evidence for formal design reviews including SRR, PDR and CDR
• Working closely with customers and key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex, high-performance defence systems
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing growth of the engineering function
