Systems Administrator – Warehouse Automation and Systems Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to take responsibility for the administration, security, maintenance and optimization of our core IT infrastructure and warehouse automation systems. The role will administer and support server systems, virtualization environments, networks, databases and associated software platforms. It will also support the integration and reliable operation of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems and our Warehouse Management System (WMS). The successful candidate will work across systems administration, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, warehouse automation and systems integration. The role also involves using scripting, APIs and selected AI and Computer Vision technologies to improve system monitoring, automation and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

Administer, maintain and optimize corporate operating systems, server hardware, software platforms, databases and virtualization environments.

Monitor system performance, capacity, availability and reliability, and identify and resolve issues affecting business operations.

Install, configure, test and maintain system software, security applications, updates and upgrades.

Implement and maintain system and network security controls, including server hardening, authentication and authorization controls, encryption, system auditing and security monitoring.

Establish and maintain system backup, recovery and Disaster Recovery procedures to protect business data and support operational continuity.

Deploy, configure and optimize low-latency, high-reliability Wi-Fi and LAN infrastructure supporting warehouse systems and AMR operations.

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to internal teams, resolving complex server, hardware, software, database and network issues.

Administer, monitor and optimize the AMR fleet and its associated control systems, including map updates, system configuration, performance monitoring and fault resolution.

Configure, integrate and support AMR control systems and the WMS to enable reliable real-time task dispatching and warehouse operations.

Develop and maintain automated auditing and monitoring tools to track fleet status, system performance and data accuracy, and to generate daily operational reports.

About you

Proven experience in systems administration, including operating systems, server administration, network administration, server hardening, virtualization and infrastructure support.

Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting corporate networks, Wi-Fi and LAN infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs and related network services.

Experience administering and troubleshooting databases, system software and integrated technology platforms.

Hands-on experience supporting AMR fleet control systems, WMS integration or similar warehouse automation technologies.

Experience with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript or Node.js.

Experience working with APIs, databases, systems integration and automated monitoring or reporting tools.

Strong understanding of authentication, authorisation, encryption, backup, Disaster Recovery, audit controls and secure systems administration practices.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in operational environments.

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, verbally and in writing.

An annual base salary of AUD 80,000 plus superannuation.
