Job summary

Eminent IT, a technology services business based at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, is seeking a Systems Administrator to keep client servers and networks running smoothly.

You will plan server rooms, administer servers, monitor health, implement security and support cloud migrations while working with a small team.

Hours: 38 hours per week; Salary: AU$75,000 to AU$85,000 plus superannuation per annum.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a closely related IT infrastructure role.
• A minimum AQF Bachelor degree or higher qualification, preferably in information technology, computer science, networking or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up server rooms and network layouts at client premises for reliable operation.
• Administer client servers including user accounts, patching and maintenance windows.
• Resolve escalated tickets for servers, desktops and network equipment with minimal disruption.
• Monitor network health and tune configurations to prevent bottlenecks.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, antivirus and endpoint protection; apply security patches.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery, running tests and restores.
• Plan migrations to cloud and maintain client IT documentation.

Education

AQF Bachelor degree or higher in IT/CS/ Networking or related discipline
