Job summary

Eminent IT, based on the Gold Coast, is seeking a Systems Administrator to keep client servers and networks running smoothly while planning for growth. You will work hands-on in a managed services environment across on-site and remote settings.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in IT infrastructure and a Bachelor-level degree (AQF) with a focus on IT/CS/Networking. Salary ranges from AUD 75,000 to 85,000 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a closely related IT infrastructure role.
• AQF Bachelor degree or higher qualification, preferably in information technology, computer science, networking or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set up server rooms and network layouts at client premises.
• Administer client servers under Eminent IT's managed services agreements.
• Pick up escalated tickets from the helpdesk and fix faults remotely or on site.
• Monitor network health across the client base and tune configurations.
• Configure and review firewalls, VPNs, antivirus and endpoint protection.
• Manage backup schedules and disaster recovery arrangements.
• Review each client's existing server and network setup and recommend upgrades or cloud moves.
• Set up and administer cloud-hosted services and migrations to cloud.
• Build, image and deploy new servers and devices; manage user onboarding/offboarding.
• Maintain technical records including network diagrams, configs and SOPs.
