Job summary

Musco Lighting Australia is seeking a motivated Sales Representative for the Sydney area. You will manage a territory, build relationships with contractors, specifiers, facility owners, and end-users, and present lighting solutions for sports facilities and other applications.

The role emphasizes customer-focused growth, collaboration with internal teams, and travel within the territory, including occasional evenings and overnights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Sales, Entrepreneurship, or a related field preferred.
• A genuine passion for sales, relationship building, and business development.
• Customer-first mindset and the ability to build trust with people at all levels.
• Self-discipline and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader team.
• A positive, entrepreneurial attitude with ownership and accountability.
• Creative and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the confidence to present to groups.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance meetings, travel, and deadlines.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn and educate others.
• Electrical industry experience and experience working with contractors are preferred.
• The flexibility to travel extensively throughout the territory, including evenings, overnight stays, and work outside traditional business hours.
• Access to a personal vehicle for business travel; mileage reimbursed.
• 3–5 years of relevant sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with contractors, specifiers, facility owners, and end-users.
• Understand customer needs and recommend Musco products.
• Develop new business and strengthen current customer relationships.
• Present Musco products via meetings, visits, trade shows, and events.
• Identify decision-makers and influencers to strengthen Musco’s position.
• Prepare project budget estimates using Musco pricing tools.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering and internal teams to evaluate projects and develop solutions.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and collections when needed.
• Participate in field activities: measure facilities, confirm pole locations, tests and inspections.
• Maintain accurate project information in Musco’s sales database.
• Coordinate with Regional Sales Coordinator on territory needs and opportunities.
• Attend meetings, calls, and training sessions.
• Proactively create new business opportunities with customers.
