Southern Cross Switchboards, an Australian-owned manufacturer, is seeking a Switchboard Foreman / Team Leader for our Silverwater workshop. You will supervise a skilled team while remaining hands-on in busbar fabrication, switchboard assembly and wiring.

This hands-on leadership role rewards experienced tradespeople with mentoring opportunities, safety and quality focus, and pathways into Production Management across diverse commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Southern Cross Switchboards is a proudly Australian-owned company with 30 years of experience designing and manufacturing custom low-voltage switchboards for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects throughout Australia.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Switchboard Foreman / Team Leader to join our Silverwater manufacturing facility and lead a skilled team delivering high-quality switchboard projects.

This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who has real switchboard manufacturing experience and enjoys mentoring tradespeople while remaining involved in production.

The Role

You will be responsible for supervising workshop activities while maintaining hands‑on involvement in manufacturing and assembly.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating workshop personnel
• Busbar manufacture, punching, bending and assembly
• Switchboard assembly and wiring
• Interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Maintaining quality and safety standards
• Monitoring project timelines and workshop productivity
• Managing materials and workflow requirements
• Supporting apprentices and tradespeople

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Proven experience manufacturing LV switchboards
• Experience with busbar systems including cutting, bending and punching
• Experience with Elsteel or similar modular switchboard systems
• Previous leadership, leading hand or supervisory experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Sound computer skills
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Excellent communication skills
• Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

• Electrical trade qualification
• NSW White Card
• Experience with Form 2, 3 and 4 switchboard construction
• Experience managing workshop teams
