Qualifications

• Must hold AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety.
• Availability to work on Saturdays.
• Any relevant swim coaching certifications will be reviewed.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• National Police Check required.
• Blue Card/WWC clearance preferred.
• Completion of YMCA Safeguarding training and annual refreshers.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective swimming lessons and aquatic education.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of YMCA programs and industry trends.
• Ensure capacity to cover every allocated class for at least 12 months.
• Provide excellent customer service to Learn to Swim families.

About the role

As a Swimming Lessons Teacher with the YMCA, you are an essential component in the delivery of YMCA aquatic education programs and services. You are required to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends and industry development.

What will my time look like?

• The philosophies of YMCA Aquatic Programs and Services
• The delivery of safe, effective and professional lessons
• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of teaching swimming and water safety
• Ensuring they are available to undertake every allocated class for a minimum of 12 months
• Delivering the highest level of service to all Learn to Swim members and their families.

Am I a good match?

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
• Availability to work on Saturdays
• Any Swim Coaching Certifications – will be reviewed
• Current certification for First Aid, CPR, or willingness to obtain
• Currently National Police Check
• Positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
