Job summary

YMCA Stanthorpe is seeking enthusiastic Swimming Lessons Teachers on a casual basis to join our team in Stanthorpe. You will deliver safe and professional swimming lessons while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of YMCA aquatic programs.

The role requires AUSTSWIM certification, Saturday availability, and relevant safety training. You will contribute to Learn to Swim programs, support families, and uphold child-safety standards, including working with children checks and safeguarding

Qualifications

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification required.
• Available to work on Saturdays.
• Swim coaching certifications will be reviewed.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• National Police Check current.
• Blue Card/Working with Children clearance.
• YMCA Safeguarding training completion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and professional swimming lessons.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of YMCA aquatic programs.
• Be available for all allocated classes for a minimum of 12 months.
• Provide high-quality service to Learn to Swim members and families.

YMCA Stanthorpe are seeking an enthusiastic Swimming Lessons Teachers on a Casual Basis to join our team located in Stanthorpe

About The Role

As a Swimming Lessons Teachers you are an essential component in the delivery of YMCA aquatic education programs and services. These positions are required to maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends and industry development.

What will my time look like?

• The philosophies of YMCA Aquatic Programs and Services
• The delivery of safe, effective and professional lessons
• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of teaching swimming and water safety
• Ensuring they are available to undertake every allocated class for a minimum of 12 months
• Delivering the highest level of service to all Learn to Swim members and their families.

Am I a good match?

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
• Availability to work on Saturdays
• Any Swim Coaching Certifications – will be reviewed
• Current certification for First Aid, CPR, or willingness to obtain
• Currently National Police Check
• Positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000
• Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar position
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, approachable manner
