Job summary

Newmont Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to support sustaining capital engineering projects at the Tanami mine. The role ensures alignment with engineering standards, managing resources, budgets, and schedules across mine operations, process operations, asset management, and technical services, with a focus on delivering value within enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline (or Project Management).
• Demonstrated project engineering experience in sustaining capital delivery for mines.
• Knowledge of project lifecycle: design, studies, construction.
• Ability to plan, schedule, budget, and execute engineering deliverables.
• Familiar with KPIs, project tracking, and reporting metrics.
• Experience working with HSE standards in mining.

Responsibilities

• Support design and planning for sustaining capital projects, including resources and timelines.
• Monitor progress, document completion rates, identify improvements.
• Perform on-site inspections to ensure conformance to plans and standards.
• Prepare project documentation, drawings, specifications, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with procurement to manage materials and equipment, ensuring availability.
• Prepare weekly status reports for the Supervisor.
• Coordinate with contractors on specifications and timelines.
• Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation for project activities.
• Record lessons learned for future projects.
• Perform QA checks on deliverables against engineering requirements.
