Job summary
Bellingen Shire Council is seeking a Planning Officer in a 12-month parental leave relief role based in NSW. You will assess development applications, provide planning advice to the community and industry, and contribute to improving assessment processes.
The ideal candidate has a planning-related degree, membership eligibility with the Planning Institute of Australia, and experience with NSW planning laws; experience with ePlanning is valued. Hybrid work and PD opportunities are available.
Qualifications
- tertiary qualifications in Planning or related discipline
- eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia or a plan to obtain membership
- experience in development assessment
- understanding of NSW planning and environmental legislation
Responsibilities
- Assess and process development applications in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies
- Provide professional planning advice to the community, development industry and Council staff
- Support sustainable development outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement of development assessment processes
- Collaborate with others, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
