Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) is recruiting for a Surveyor / Data Manager to oversee survey control, field data and spatial information on a major SE Queensland rail and civil works project. The role ensures accurate, traceable datasets for construction and handover decisions.

The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in surveying, at least 7 years of construction-survey experience on large civil or rail projects, and hands-on experience with total stations, GNSS, scanning, and BIM/GIS

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in surveying, geomatics or spatial science; relevant registration where required.
• 7+ years' construction-survey experience including data leadership on major civil or rail projects.
• Total stations, GNSS, scanning, monitoring and BIM/GIS data exchange.

Responsibilities

• Establish and protect project survey control and calibration records
• Plan and review set-out, feature surveys, monitoring, scanning and as-built activities
• Validate field data, coordinate systems and metadata for transfer into design, BIM, GIS and asset platforms
• Investigate survey discrepancies before affected work is covered
• Maintain survey and spatial-data registers, backups and access controls

Job description

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking a Surveyor / Data Manager to manage survey control, field data and spatial information so construction and handover decisions rest on accurate, traceable datasets.
