Stantec’s Geospatial team in Sydney offers diverse opportunities for Surveyors in the Sydney area, with projects across New South Wales. The role involves hands-on field surveys, data processing, and collaboration with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality survey deliverables.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Surveying is required.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Survey Technician or Survey Assistant is preferred.
• Experience with survey equipment (Trimble, Leica or similar).
• Working knowledge of CAD or survey processing software (Civil 3D, 12D, Magnet).
• Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete field surveys including topographic, feature, engineering, and construction set-out.
• Operate survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS/GPS receivers, digital levels, and data collectors.
• Process survey data and prepare CAD drawings, plans, and spatial deliverables.
• Maintain equipment, field notes, and data records to company standards.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to clarify survey requirements.
• Support quality assurance and compliance with safety protocols on all sites.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of survey workflows and technology use.
