JFP Urban Consultants Pty is seeking a Survey Drafter to join our team, with options for either Sunshine Coast or Brisbane base. The role involves drafting survey plans and associated documentation in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in survey drafting and plans per Queensland legislation (Registrars Directions for the Preparation of Plans) is highly regarded.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SurvaCAD is required; 12d Model experience is advantageous.
• Attention to technical accuracy, problem solving and delivery of quality outcomes.
• Ability to manage own workload while contributing to a collaborative project environment.
• Clear, professional communication with a range of colleagues and disciplines.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey plans, calculations and documentation for land development, building subdivisions and leases.
• Undertake lot calculations and cadastral drafting using CAD software.
• Coordinate survey and design data across urban design, engineering and landscape disciplines.
• Collaborate with surveyors, planners, engineers and project team members to support delivery.
• Support engineering teams with ADAC processing, reporting and deliverables.
• Ensure drafting outputs meet legislative requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain high accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of surveying workflows and drafting procedures.

The Role - Survey Drafter

We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Survey Drafter to join our team and contribute to the delivery of accurate, high-quality survey plans, drafting and associated technical documentation.

Our preference is for a part-time team member based on the Sunshine Coast; however, we also welcome applications from candidates seeking full-time employment or a Brisbane-based opportunity.

Working closely with our surveyors, engineers and broader project teams, you'll play an important role in supporting a diverse range of land development, residential building and infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing survey plans, calculations and associated documentation for land development, building subdivisions and leases.
• Undertaking lot calculations and cadastral drafting using CAD software.
• Managing and coordinating survey and design data across disciplines, including urban design, engineering and landscape architecture.
• Collaborating with surveyors, planners, engineers and other project team members to support efficient project delivery.
• Supporting engineering teams with ADAC processing, reporting and deliverables.
• Ensuring drafting outputs meet relevant legislative requirements, technical standards and quality expectations.
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of surveying workflows, systems and drafting procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines sound technical skills with a proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to producing quality work.

• Experience: Previous experience in survey drafting, with the preparation of plans in accordance with Queensland legislation (eg. Registrars Directions for the Preparation of Plans etc.) highly regarded.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and SurvaCAD is required. Experience with 12d Model is advantageous but not essential.
• Attention to Detail: Strong technical accuracy, problem-solving skills and pride in delivering quality outcomes.
• Independence & Teamwork: The ability to manage your own workload while contributing positively to a collaborative project environment.
• Communication: Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of colleagues and disciplines.
• Eligibility: Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
