Job summary

NSW Health’s Blacktown Hospital is expanding its Surgical Services with Permanent Full Time opportunities for Registered Nurses. You will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care across Complex, Orthopaedic, General and Short Stay surgery, coordinating patient journeys and supporting students and colleagues within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Recent nursing experience relevant to surgical setting.
• Ability to apply evidence-based practice to patient care.
• Strong clinical communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care for surgical patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to clinical changes promptly.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Supervise, mentor and delegate to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and students where appropriate.
• Advocate for patients while upholding professional standards and cultural sensitivity.
