Job summary

Knox Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy specialist surgical practice. The role combines administration, patient coordination, theatre scheduling and accounts, ensuring efficient, professional service for patients and clinicians.

You will act as the central point of contact between the surgeon, patients, hospital staff and external providers, driving smooth workflows in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical or healthcare administration environment.
• Background in practice management or senior medical administration.
• Demonstrated organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence.
• Experience with medical billing and accounts.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with practice software.
• Commitment to confidentiality and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
• Coordinate daily administrative activities of the practice.
• Ensure patients receive a professional, efficient and welcoming service.
• Manage practice workflows, systems and administrative processes.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Manage patient enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
• Coordinate new patient bookings, follow-up appointments and cancellations.
• Coordinate and book theatre lists and surgical procedures.
• Prepare, type and distribute specialist correspondence and medical letters.
• Manage the day-to-day financial administration of the practice.
