Job summary

Purple Patch Consulting is seeking experienced Support Workers to assist NDIS participants living independently at home. You’ll provide compassionate care, help with daily tasks, and support participation in the community.

Roles involve 24/7 rostering on a rotating shift pattern with consistent hours, onboarding, and ongoing training. You’ll use a company tablet and rostering app to log notes and shifts, ensuring reliability and dignity in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Previous paid experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• First Aid Certificate with CPR.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working with Children Check.
• National Police Check within 6 months or willingness to obtain one.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
• Reliable smartphone with mobile data.

Responsibilities

Wanted: Support Workers Who Actually Care About the \"Support\" Part

This isn't a job where you turn up, stare at your phone for four hours, write \"participant had a good day\" in the notes and head home.

We're looking for Support Workers who understand that good disability support is about helping someone live their life with greater independence, dignity and choice.

Our client is an established disability support provider focused on matching the right Support Worker with the right participant.

Not simply whoever happens to be available.

Because personality matters. Trust matters.

And when you're being invited into someone's home and daily life, getting that match right really matters.

The Gig

You’ll be supporting NDIS participants living independently in their own homes.

Most supports are relatively low intensity, but they're incredibly important to the person receiving them.

You might be helping with:

• Domestic assistance
• Meal preparation
• Medication prompting
• Transportation and community access
• Personal hygiene and personal care, including showering, toileting and feeding
• Building daily living skills
• Social and emotional support
• Companionship and getting out into the community

Some days you’ll be helping someone get organised at home. Other days you’ll be getting them out into the community. Sometimes the most important part of the shift might simply be having a conversation with someone who genuinely enjoys having you there.

That’s support work.

The Hours

Participants generally require support on a 24 / 7 rotating roster.

We’re currently looking for people who can work various shifts week days and weekends.

There are consistent hours and routine rosters available, but if you’re happy to pick up the occasional backfill shift when another team member is away, even better.

What You’ll Need

There are a few non-negotiables.

You’ll need:

• Previous paid experience as a Disability Support Worker
• Completed Certificate III in Community Services or another relevant qualification
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• First Aid Certificate with current CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check for paid employment
• Working with Children Check for paid employment
• National Police Check issued within the last six months, or willingness to obtain one
• Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Reliable smartphone with mobile data

Qualifications matter. But so does the person behind them.

We’re also looking for someone who is reliable, communicates well, respects boundaries and understands that you’re supporting someone in their home and their life.

The aim is to provide consistent hours and routine rosters wherever possible. You’re Paid Properly. Competitive rates, conditions and applicable weekday, weekend and overtime penalties are paid in accordance with the relevant industry award.

Because needing help at 7pm isn’t particularly useful if the office opens at 9am tomorrow.

You’ll also have access to an Employee Assistance Program throughout your employment.

This isn’t the right role if you’re simply looking to collect as many shifts as possible. It isn’t for someone who regularly cancels at the last minute. And it isn’t for someone who sees participants as a list of tasks to complete.
