Endeavour Foundation is seeking a Support Worker for SIL homes in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. You will help people with disabilities live independently, supporting daily living skills, personal care, meal planning and community activities.

The role requires comfort with a 7-day roster (sleepovers/active awakes) and working in SIL homes. A Certificate III in Individual Support is advantageous, along with WWC/NDIS checks and a valid driver’s license.

We currently have roles working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes, in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. You will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other key duties will include

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking support workers who have experience with personal care and manual handling, and comfortable delivering a high-level of care. The role involves supporting clients in SILS, who present with complex needs, experience with challenging behaviours is an advantage. The ideal candidate will also be able to support participants and contribute to a 7 day a week roster, with the flexibility for sleepovers and active awakes depending on client needs. We have roles across different SIL homes in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

We also require

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work a variety of times, including short shifts, weekends and overnights
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card),
• Hold or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card),
• First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Driver's License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle
