Job summary

Endeavour Foundation Mackay is hiring Disability Support Workers for our SIL homes. Positions include permanent part-time and casual roles with a mix of day, afternoon, and sleepover shifts to help people with disabilities live as independently as possible.

Ideal candidates have broad availability, are comfortable with sleepovers, and hold or are willing to obtain essential checks (WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid/CPR, National Criminal History).

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Disability is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, and National Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing daily living skills (housekeeping, personal care, social skills, budgeting).
• Assisting with personal care where required to meet individual needs.
• Supporting meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and community outings.
• Providing support during daily activities and appointments.
• Helping people maintain connections with family, friends, and services.

Job description

We have permanent part-time and casual opportunities available across our SIL homes in Mackay, offering a mix of day, afternoon and sleepover supports.

Our permanent part-time positions offer a consistent roster as part of a permanent schedule, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts where available. Casual positions provide greater flexibility, with opportunities to pick up shifts based on your availability and service needs.

To be considered for these roles, you will need to have broad/open availability and be comfortable working a range of shifts, including sleepovers.

Working within ourSIL (Supported Independent Living) home in Mackay, you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other key duties will include:

• Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting.
• Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support.
• Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.
• Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment.
• Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability to work a permanent roster line that may include multiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.
• Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work), and an open Drivers License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
