Job summary

Uniting is seeking a Home Care Worker in Forster/Tuncurry to deliver essential in-home care for elderly clients in the local community. This permanent part-time role supports clients in their own homes and surrounding areas, promoting independence and quality of life, with a focus on safety and compassionate care.

You will assist with daily tasks, personal care, transportation to appointments, and meal prep, while meeting client goals and Uni t ing values.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent.
• Experience in aged or community care is preferred.
• Empathetic and resourceful, aligning with Uniting values.
• Flexible to accommodate clients' changing schedules.
• Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide home care support including housekeeping, shopping and meal prep.
• Escort clients to appointments, outings and social activities.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, meals and medication administration.

Pay Rate: $32.61 - $37.68 per hour + 99c per km and travel time

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Help at home: Assist with housekeeping, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
• Transport for wellbeing: Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, and social activities.
• Personal Care: Support with personal hygiene, showering, dressing, meal assistance, and medication administration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in aged or community care is preferred, or a strong desire to begin a career in aged care.
• Empathetic and resourceful, embodying Uniting’s values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.
• Flexibility to accommodate the evolving needs and schedules of our clients.
• A provisional or full Australian driving license and access to a comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle.
