Job summary

Claro Disability Services is seeking supportive care workers to assist clients with complex needs across mobility, daily tasks, and social activities. You will work closely with families, medical professionals, and other support workers to ensure smooth operation and meaningful engagement.

The role offers flexible shifts, a supportive clinical team, and paid induction to help you grow in a values-led environment focused on care, integrity, and connection.

Responsibilities

• Chat with the client and family to understand goals and routines.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices as outlined.
• Monitor health changes and liaise with care team for plans.
• Provide social time and community access aligned with interests.
• Support decision-making and advocate for client autonomy.
• Respect cultural backgrounds and beliefs in all interactions.

Job description

• Monday 7am to 11am
• Tuesday 5pm to 11pm (inactive sleepover 11pm to 7am)
• Friday 12:30pm to 4:30pm
• Client has a dog, so must be okay with dogs

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being

Who we’re looking for

• Interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health nuances.
• Great communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
• Reliable and professional, with good notetaking and teamwork.
• Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing needs and shifts.

• Optional but nice: Manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability-support training, experience with para quad highly regarded
• Behaviour support, personal care, catheter care, ceiling hoist, domestic support
