Job summary

Kanda is looking for a dedicated Disability Support Worker to help participants reach their goals. You will support personal care, daily living tasks, and health routines, while documenting shift notes and following individual support plans.

Work involves community access and employment goal support, building respectful relationships with participants and families, and mentoring newer team members. Casual or part-time opportunities may apply.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in disability support, aged care or community services.
• Current Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2).
• Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

The role

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll work alongside participants to help them achieve their goals. Day to day, this may include:

• Supporting personal care, daily living and household tasks
• Assisting with community access, social activities and employment goals
• Supporting medication prompts and health routines
• Building positive, respectful relationships with participants and their families
• Documenting shift notes and following each participant's support plan

About you

• At least 3 years' experience in disability support, aged care or community services
• Confident supporting participants with personal care and Manual Handling
• Experience assisting clients within all personal care and catheter care
• Experience assisting clients within Seizure Management
• Strong documentation, reporting and incident-management skills
• Ability to work independently and mentor newer team members
