Claro Disability Services in Melbourne is seeking compassionate care workers to support people with complex needs in daily living. You’ll work with clients on mobility, routines, and meaningful activities, tailoring supports to each person’s goals and culture.

You’ll collaborate with families, medical professionals, and a clinical team to ensure safe, person-centered care. Flexible shifts, paid induction, and travel between client shifts are offered to fit your life while making a real impact.

Responsabilités

• Chat with the client (and family/advocates), understand goals and routines.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks and devices as outlined in the plan.
• Monitor changes and follow medical/clinical plans; liaise with the care team as needed.
• Support social time and community participation aligned with client interests.
• Promote autonomy, advocacy, consent and independence where possible.
• Respect cultural backgrounds, beliefs and ways of being.

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being

Who we’re looking for

• Interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health nuances.
• Great communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
• Reliable and professional, with good notetaking and teamwork.
• Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing needs and shifts.

• Optional but nice: Manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability-support training.
