Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking dedicated carers to join our aged care team in Shellharbour Village NSW. You’ll care for residents, provide daily living assistance, and support independence in a welcoming home.

Applicants with Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent will be preferred. Expect a supportive environment, staff benefits, and career growth opportunities, with a possible referral incentive. Employment requires background checks.

Qualifications

• Qualified aged care worker with compassionate, patient and respectful approach.
• Ability to provide personal care, daily living help and companionship.
• Willingness to support residents with mobility, meals and activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with daily living tasks: showering, hygiene, dressing, meals, mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound care when required.
• Support residents in social and community activities.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
