Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking a Disability Support Worker in Townsville to provide in-home and SIL support, helping clients achieve independence and daily living goals.

You will work a permanent roster with varied shifts, including sleepovers, across days and evenings, in our SIL homes in Townsville. A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous, with essential computer skills and a compassionate, professional approach.

Job description

We have a permanent roster line available across our SIL homes in Townsville, offering a 60-hour fortnightly contract working a mixture of days, afternoons and sleepover shifts.

Working within ourSIL(Supported Independent Living) homeinTownsville,you will provide support,assistingpeople with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need someadditionalsupport at home. No two days will be the same - you may hear that phrase a lot but here at Endeavour Foundation, you will see it in action!

Other key duties will include:

Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, socialskillsand budgeting.

Assistingwith aspects of personal care whererequiredto meet the individual needs of the people we support.

Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings.

Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to themoviesoraccompanyingto an appointment.

Helping the people we support tomaintaina connection to their family, friends, and services.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is a calm, compassionate, and professional Disability Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with complex support needs and behaviours of concern. You will be confident providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks while creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, respondappropriately to challenging situations, and build trusting relationships is essential for success in this role.

We alsorequire:

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) isadvantageous.

Availability to work a permanent roster line that may includemultiple sleepovers and a variety of shifts across days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and active overnight supports.

Good computer skills and experience using Word,Exceland Outlook.

Hold or be willing to obtain aWorking with Children Check(Blue Card),NDIS Worker Screening Check(Yellow Card),First Aid,CPR,National Criminal History Check(Fit2Work), and an openDriversLicensewithcomprehensive insuranceon your vehicle.
