Job summary

Continuity Care in North Lakes, QLD is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. You will assist clients with aged care and disability needs, helping them maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.

This role offers flexible casual hours and the opportunity to contribute to person-centred care in the community. You will build trusting relationships with clients and their families, document care accurately and collaborate with the care team to adapt

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care, disability support or community services is desirable.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Valid Yellow Card and Blue Card.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing as required.
• Assist with meals, household tasks and shopping to support daily living.
• Support mobility and use of assistive devices, promoting safety.
• Build rapport with clients and families with empathy and respect.
• Maintain accurate records of care and observations for the team.
• Help clients access community activities and appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and supervisors.
• Respond to emotional and practical needs with compassion.
• Adhere to duty of care and company policies.

Continuity Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. Based in North Lakes, QLD, this role offers the flexibility of casual work whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to clients with aged care and disability needs, helping them maintain independence, dignity and quality of life. This position is integral to our mission of delivering person-centred care and support services that enable our clients to thrive in their communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing support to clients as required
• Assist with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, household tasks and shopping
• Support clients with mobility and use of assistive devices, promoting safety and independence
• Build positive relationships with clients and their families, demonstrating empathy and respect
• Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and any observations or concerns
• Support clients to access community activities, appointments and social engagements
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for clients
• Communicate effectively with the care team, supervisors and other healthcare professionals
• Respond compassionately to clients' emotional and practical needs
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, duty of care obligations and company policies

What we're looking for

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people and improving their quality of life
• Experience working in aged care, disability support or community services (desirable but not essential for entry-level candidates)
• Valid Yellow Card and Blue Card
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
• Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility support
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required in a casual capacity
• A non-judgemental, person-centred approach to care
• Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate III in Disability Support or similar (preferred)
