Job summary

UnitingSA is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide personalised care and support to older people in their homes, helping them feel safe, independent, and connected to their community.

You will deliver personal care, domestic assistance, meals, and transport; encourage activity; monitor health changes and report to the coordinator; and uphold dignity, independence, and choice while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or Community Services (essential).
• First Aid Certificate (essential).
• SA Driver’s Licence (essential).
• Comprehensive insurance (essential).
• Experience working with older people in a home care setting.
• Excellent communication skills and a focus on dignity and choice.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential services such as personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and medication support.
• Helping clients stay active and engaged through social support and transport services.
• Observing and reporting any changes in health or well-being to the coordinator.
• Promoting independence and choice while ensuring a high standard of care.
• Creating meaningful connections with clients and their families.

Your Role

• A reliable vehicle with comprehensiveinsurance (essential)
• Experience working with older people in a home caresetting
• Excellent communication skills and a strong focus ondignity and choice
• The ability to work independently and within a team
