Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers to assist people with disability to live as independently as possible in Gladstone. You will work across our L&L and SIL services, supporting daily living skills, personal care, meals, community activities and progress toward NDIS goals.

Roles are permanent part-time or casual with varied rosters, including days, evenings and sleepovers, offering flexibility and a meaningful, community-focused career in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in disability, aged care or related community services is highly regarded.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• A Working with Children Check and First Aid/CPR are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support people to achieve NDIS goals and develop daily living skills.
• Provide personal care and support according to individual needs.
• Assist with meal planning, cooking and light household tasks.
• Facilitate community access and attend appointments.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will support people with disability to live as independently as possible, achieve their goals and participate in their local community.

Working across our L&L and SIL services, every day will be different. You could be supporting someone to develop daily living skills, preparing meals, assisting with personal care, attending community activities or helping someone work towards their NDIS goals.

Key duties include:

• Supporting people to achieve their NDIS goals and develop daily living skills.
• Providing personal care and support according to individual needs.

• Supporting people to build independence, confidence and connections within their community.
• Following individual support plans and providing person-centred support.
• Building positive relationships with the people we support, their families and other stakeholders.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a confident, compassionate, reliable and person-centred Disability Support Worker who enjoys variety and is comfortable working across different support environments.

Experience in disability, aged care, mental health, community services or similar areas will be highly regarded. We are also open to candidates who have transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting people with disability.

You will need to be flexible, reliable and comfortable working a range of shifts, including sleepovers where required.

We also require:

• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
• Availability across a range of shifts, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid, CPR and National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work).
• An open Driver Licence and comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
