Job summary

Ruah in Geraldton seeks three Casual Support Workers to join our mental health services. You will provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support and work in a multidisciplinary team to help clients build independence, wellbeing and community connections.

Shifts include day, evening, overnight and weekends. Candidates should have a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III) or related experience, strong communication, and a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to care.

Qualifications

  • Completion of, or progress towards, a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III) and/or relevant work experience and/or lived experience.
  • Ability to engage with individuals with varying levels of need and build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client reporting systems.
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to Ruah's vision, mission, values and guiding principles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.

Join Ruah's Geraldton mental health team and support people to build independence, wellbeing and community connection. We are seeking three Casual Support Workers to join our casual pool and work across our mental health services.

About the Role

We are seeking three Casual Support Workers to join our Geraldton casual pool and work across our mental health services.

As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support to people experiencing mental health challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist clients to build independence, improve wellbeing, strengthen community connections and achieve their individual goals.

The role includes providing one-on-one support, assisting with daily living activities, supporting community participation, accompanying clients to appointments, maintaining client records and contributing to positive outcomes through a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.

With day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts available, this is an excellent opportunity for compassionate and adaptable individuals seeking flexible work while making a meaningful difference in their local community.

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience supporting people with complex needs.
