Job summary

AQCare is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in Brisbane. We offer permanent full-time or part-time roles across our supported accommodation services, with day, evening and overnight shifts available.

As a Disability Support Worker you will provide consistent, person-centred support, assist with daily living, medication where appropriate, and help participants participate in the community, building independence and skills.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance/Yellow Card or be in progress.
• Current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to transport participants.

AQCare is seeking experienced and committed Disability Support Workers to join our team. We are particularly interested in candidates looking for permanent employment and consistent, ongoing hours.

We offer opportunities to work across our supported accommodations services, with a range of day, weekend and sleepover shifts available.

The role

As a Disability Support Worker with AQCare, you will provide consistent day-to-day support tailored to the needs and goals of the people you work with.

• Personal care and daily living support
• Medication assistance
• Supporting community access and participation
• Building independence and everyday life skills
• Following individual support and behaviour support plans
• Completing clear, accurate shift notes and documentation
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and other members of the support team

What we're looking for

You will be a good fit if you are dependable, adaptable and genuinely committed to providing high-quality support.

Successful applicants will:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
• Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance/Yellow Card, or be in the process of obtaining one
• Hold a current Australian Driver Licence and be willing to transport participants when required
• Hold current First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain it
• Communicate confidently and professionally with participants and colleagues
• Be able to work independently while contributing positively to a team
• Have strong documentation and record-keeping skills
• Be comfortable following individual support plans, procedures and behaviour support strategies

Our services operate around the clock, so applicants must be able to work across a roster that includes weekday, evening and overnight shifts.

Applicants must have working rights in Australia that allow them to meet the ongoing hours and roster requirements of the position.

These positions are base in the Mount Gravatt East and Cannon Hill areas. Applicants should consider their ability to reliably travel to these locations when applying.

Previous disability support experience is highly regarded.
