Job summary

Kanda is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist participants with daily living, community access and health routines in a supportive, inclusive environment.

You will document shift notes, follow individual support plans, and help participants achieve personal goals while working within a 7-day roster, including occasional sleepovers. This role offers part-time or casual opportunities in Brisbane, Australia.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in disability support, aged care or community services.
• Confident supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
• Strong documentation, reporting and incident-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor newer team members.

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll work alongside participants to help them achieve their goals. Day to day, this may include:

• Supporting personal care, daily living and household tasks
• Assisting with community access, social activities and employment goals
• Supporting medication prompts and health routines [adjust to scope]
• Building positive, respectful relationships with participants and their families
• Documenting shift notes and following each participant's support plan

About you

• 1+ years' experience in disability support, aged care or community services
• Confident supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
• Strong documentation, reporting and incident-management skills
• Ability to work independently and mentor newer team members

Essential requirements

• A current Australian driver’s licence (minimum P2)
• A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Rights to work in Australia
• Availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster, including the ability to complete a minimum of two sleepover shifts per fortnight. Common roster of care: 8am - 4pm, 4pm -8am (sleepover 10pm-6am).
