Job summary

Telstra Health is seeking expressions of interest for Support Specialist roles in the Leaving Violence Program across Australia. You will provide short-term, trauma-informed, telephone-based support to victim-survivors as they navigate safety and access to services.

In a structured environment, you will assess risk, help complete applications, maintain accurate records, and connect clients with the right supports. A relevant degree and WWCC/National Police Check are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years' experience in the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence sector with trauma-informed risk assessment and safety planning
  • Experience in online call-centre style environments performing risk/needs assessments for vulnerable people
  • Ability to work in fast-paced settings with accurate documentation and process adherence
  • Capable of handling complex, sensitive situations professionally
  • Strong organisational skills and thorough documentation
  • Experience helping individuals access programs and referrals
  • Full-time Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm local time, rotating roster
  • Willingness to complete WWCC and National Police Check

Responsibilities

  • Guide and support victim-survivors through the application process and determine eligibility
  • Provide short-term (up to 12 weeks) telephone-based support with regular check-ins and referrals
  • Undertake risk and needs assessments and develop safety plans with clients
  • Maintain timely accurate notes and follow-up actions in line with program expectations and KPIs
