Job summary

Telstra Health is inviting expressions of interest for the Leaving Violence Program. As a Support Specialist, you will deliver trauma-informed, telephone-based support to victim-survivors, guiding them through applications and connecting them with essential services.

The role requires strong risk assessment, safety planning and meticulous documentation in a fast-paced environment. A relevant bachelor's degree and eligibility for professional registration are essential.

Qualifications

  • Three years’ experience in Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence sector providing person-centred, trauma-informed support.
  • Experience in online/call-centre type environments with risk and needs assessment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation in a fast-paced setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field with eligibility for registration.

Responsibilities

  • Guide victim-survivors through the application process and determine eligibility for the Leaving Violence Program.
  • Provide short-term (up to 12 weeks) telephone-based support with regular check-ins and referrals.
  • Conduct risk and needs assessments and develop safety plans with the client.
  • Maintain timely, accurate notes and complete follow-up actions per program KPIs.
