Job summary

LEAP Support Services Tasmania is seeking an experienced Support Leader to guide on-site teams across sites from Wynyard to Latrobe. You will deliver hands-on, person-centred support to participants and lead Support Workers to ensure safe, high-quality care.

This hands-on role requires strong communication, calm under pressure, and meticulous documentation, with the leadership team backing you as you model LEAP's values and coordinate plans, reports, and wellbeing across shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or working towards.
• Experience in disability support with complex needs.
• Strong communication skills with a person-centred approach.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• Driver's license and ability to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and vulnerable people registration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on, person-centred support to participants across your sites.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Support Workers across your allocated sites.
• Lead by example, embedding LEAP's values and person-centred practice.
• Ensure care plans and documentation are current, understood, and followed.
• Maintain a visible, hands-on presence across your sites and varying shifts.
• Coordinate participant appointments and keep documentation accurate and up to date.
• Own accurate, timely reporting, including medication management and end-of-month documentation.
• Identify and elevate risks, incidents, and participant wellbeing concerns as they arise.
• Seek guidance from Supervisor to ensure timely updates across all sites.
• Build genuine, trusted relationships with participants and their families.
• Be a reliable contributor to the organisation's after-hours on-call roster.
