Job summary

KBR Careers in Sydney seeks a Supply Officer (ERP Purchasing, Codification Support) to manage day-to-day purchasing, codification, and cataloguing. The role supports ILS and lifecycle cost analysis, with a focus on reducing through-life costs and maintaining operational readiness. Baseline Defence clearance is required.

The ideal candidate will have Defence logistics experience, ERP knowledge, and the ability to manage supplier relationships while ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent practical expertise.
  • 5+ years’ experience in ILS or logistics engineering within Defence or a related technical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence logistics management systems, including ERP platforms.
  • Understanding of Defence procurement processes, with exposure to SCPM and AMPs advantageous.
  • Eligibility for ITAR clearance; Baseline Defence Security Clearance required as a baseline or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement and sparing activities to align with lifecycle targets.
  • Monitor procurement for engineering changes and escalate risks as needed.
  • Manage inventory logistics, stock holdings, and supply-demand coordination.
  • Address material shortages by sourcing alternatives and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Maintain accurate master data including ERP updates, stock codes and supplier details.
  • Support lifecycle cost analysis and contribute ILS expertise to improve long-term supportability.
  • Manage obsolescence, risk, configuration data, and disposal processes in compliance.

The Opportunity

The Supply Officer (ERP Purchasing, Codification Support) reports directly to the Supply Manager and is responsible for the day to day purchasing, codification and cataloguing on behalf of the area. The Supply Officer forms part of the Supply Team and supports the area by identifying and investigating opportunities to reduce through life support costs. They should also identify risks and issues associated with ILS and supportability aspects of purchasing, this includes sparing analysis. This is a permanent full-time opportunity and based in Sydney. The successful candidate must hold a Baseline security clearance or higher.

  • Support lifecycle cost analysis, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and contribute ILS expertise to improve long‑term supportability.
  • Manage obsolescence, risk, configuration data, and disposal processes while ensuring compliance with systems.
As the ideal candidate you will bring
  • Relevant qualifications or experience, such as a Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent practical expertise.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or logistics engineering within Defence or a related technical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence logistics management systems, including ERP platforms.
  • Understanding of Defence procurement processes, with exposure to SCPM and AMPs considered advantageous.
  • Eligibility for ITAR clearance, with desirable experience supporting marine, mechanical, or electrical systems on RAN platforms.
  • All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
  • Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
