Job summary

Qube Ports is seeking a qualified forklift operator to support safe operations at White Bay Terminal in Sydney. The role involves driving 1.8 to 2.5 tonne forklifts, performing duties in Receivals and Deliveries and on wharf vessel operations, while complying with SOPs and OH&S policies.

Candidates must hold a current high risk forklift licence, have at least 12 months forklift experience, and demonstrate reliability, safety, and the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary role of Supplementary Stevedores at White Bay Terminal is to support the safe and efficient operation of passenger vessels in Sydney during seasonal demand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Safely operating a Forklift (1.8 Tonne and 2.5 tonne Counter Balance)


2. Forklift Driving may be performed in R&D (Receivals and Deliveries) and during vessel operations (on the wharf)


3. Operate plant and equipment as per standard operating procedures (SOP's) or as directed by management


4. Follow all company policies including, but not limited to, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Forklift operator – must have current high risk forklift licence


2. Knowledge and experience of Manual handling techniques


3. Previous experience on a Forklift (Minimum 12 Months)


4. Ability to drive in confined spaces


5. Ability to follow instructions in a fast pace environment


6. Ability to work in a team and work autonomously


7. Proven reliability - we need team players who can 100% commit to the role (this will also need to be backed up by a reputable reference)


8. Place safety as a top priority
