Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a capable Water Distribution team member to support day-to-day operations at the Flinders Depot and assist with maintenance of the water distribution system and compliance with relevant legislation. The role reports to the Coordinator - Water Distribution and requires on-call availability.

The position is permanent full-time, with 38 hours per week and a 9-day fortnight. Applicants should have the specified certificates and a current NSW MR Truck Licence, and

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate IV in Water Industry or equivalent knowledge.
• Must have a current NSW MR Truck Licence (or obtain within 6 months).
• Must hold a NSW First Aid Certificate.
• Must hold a National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover).
• Must provide proof of Australian residency/citizenship or work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the water distribution system and support Water Coordinators.
• Ensure processes and protocols comply with legislation and Council policies; manage risks.

Education

Certificate IV in Water Industry or equivalent knowledge

Current NSW MR Truck Licence

Current NSW First Aid Certificate

Current National WHS Construction Card

Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia

Job description

• Located at Shoalhaven Water Flinders Depot

About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator - Water Distribution, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the day-to-day operations of the Water Distribution Team's functions and staff). This includes:

• Maintenance of the water distribution system and support to the Water Coordinators.
• Ensure processes and protocols are in place for the Water Distribution Team's compliance with all relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

• Certificate IV in Water Industry or equivalent experience/knowledge
• Current MR Truck Licence or must obtain within 6 months.
• Current NSW First Aid Certificate.
• Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover).
• Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa).
