Job summary

Queensland Health in Cairns is seeking a Supervisor Minor New Works to coordinate high-quality Building Engineering and Maintenance Services, including facility assessments and project scoping to progress service delivery aims.

This role involves overseeing feasibility, monitoring project delivery against time and cost parameters, and maintaining asbestos management compliance, while developing strong client relationships and providing career training and wellness benefits to the team.

Responsibilities

• Investigate feasibility and viability and provide scoping of minor new works projects and provide expert advice to clients as required to progress service delivery aims.
• Monitor and review the quality of service, project delivery and expenditure on current projects to ensure compliance with quality standards, industry best practice and agreed cost and time parameters.
• Establish and oversee a maintenance/removal program for all asbestos containing material in accordance with the “Asbestos Management and Control Policy for Government Buildings” within the Health Service.
• Develop and maintain a close liaison with clients to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and a consistently high standard of product and service delivery.

About us:

Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services provide planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all district physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. The BEMS team currently consist of professional, operational, administrative and trade staff. The Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. These responsibilities are exercised through the management of in house labour and the management and supervision of day labour and/or contractors where necessary to supplement in -house labour.

About your role:
