Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service invites applications for a Supervisor Minor New Works within Infrastructure Asset Management in Cairns. The role oversees feasibility studies, scoping and delivery of minor new works projects, and provides expert client advice to progress service delivery aims.

You will monitor project delivery, control expenditure against quality standards, and establish maintenance/removal programs for asbestos-containing materials in line with policy.

• Monitor and review the quality of service, project delivery and expenditure on current projects to ensure compliance with quality standards, industry best practice and agreed cost and time parameters.
• Establish and oversee a maintenance/removal program for all asbestos containing material in accordance with the "Asbestos Management and Control Policy for Government Buildings" within the Health Service.
• Develop and maintain a close liaison with clients to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and a consistently high standard of product and service delivery.

Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services provide planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all district physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. The BEMS team currently consist of professional, operational, administrative and trade staff. The Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. These responsibilities are exercised through the management of in house labour and the management and supervision of day labour and/or contractors where necessary to supplement in -house labour.

About your role:
