Job summary

Fetch Recruitment Pty is seeking a Civil Supervisor/Team Lead for a substantial brownfield road upgrade project in the Werribee area, VIC. This permanent, site-based leadership role reports to the Project Manager with a start within 4 weeks for the right candidate.

You will lead crews, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and clients, and ensure safety, quality and environmental standards on a $7 million project with strong ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a site team and crews on civil works.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements on site.
• Proven ability to coordinate with Project Managers, engineers and subcontractors.

• Manage day-to-day site operations including safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
• Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, pre-starts and ongoing safety management.
• Monitor works against program, budget and quality requirements.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor/Team Lead to take ownership of a $7 million brownfield upgrade project, with the majority of works focused on road construction. This is a permanent, site-based leadership role reporting into the Project Manager, with a start available within 4 weeks for the right person.

This role requires genuine, proven experience managing a team — leading crews from the top down, coordinating with Project Managers, Engineers and subcontractors, not simply working within a team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage on-site crews, operators, labourers and subcontractors across the project
• Oversee delivery of road works in line with project specifications and relevant standards
• Coordinate plant, materials, resources and programming to maintain productivity and progress
• Manage day-to-day site operations including safety, quality and environmental compliance
• Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers, clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
• Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, pre-starts and ongoing safety management
• Monitor works against program, budget and quality requirements

About You

• Road works experience is essential — ideally including VicRoads/Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) exposure
• Proven team leadership and crew management experience — you must have genuinely led a team, not just worked within one
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodology, safety and compliance requirements
• Confident working with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and clients
• Relevant tickets and qualifications for site-based civil supervision
• A strong reputation and established track record within the civil construction industry
