Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking a Superintendent Processing Services to lead the safe, stable and efficient delivery of Processing Services across ROM operations, water management, tailings and onsite power.

You will provide governance and leadership across multiple shift patterns, including FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville and DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires. The role requires strong operational leadership in mining or mineral processing, tailings governance,

ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This permanent role offers a 4:3 roster, with FIFO options from Brisbane or Townsville and DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

As the Superintendent Processing Services, You will be responsible for the safe, stable and efficient delivery of Processing Services, providing leadership and governance across ROM operations, water management, tailings and onsite power services.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Govern contractor performance, service delivery and commercial obligations.
• Ensure TSF operations comply with GISTM, legislation and site standards.
• Support open cut transition plans, including mine-to-mill integration and future infrastructure.
• Drive operational excellence, cost control and continuous improvement across accountable areas.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Operational leadership within mining or mineral processing environments.
• ROM operations, ore management, water systems and/or tailings facilities.
• Tailings governance, GISTM requirements and critical risk management.
• Stakeholder engagement, contractor management and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.
