Job summary

Sunshine College in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Leading Teacher for the SunLit reading program across Years 7–10. The role focuses on improving reading achievement, coordinating curriculum delivery, and supporting teachers through data-informed practice.

The position involves collaboration with English leaders and learning specialists to align teaching strategies across campuses, foster high expectations, and drive student growth within a supportive, inclusive school community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum priorities and literacy/numeracy development across the school.
• Experience in planning and evaluating high-impact teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Ability to monitor and use data to drive improvements in reading growth and student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SunLit reading program across Years 7–10 and ensure high-quality instruction.
• Analyse reading assessment data (NAPLAN, etc.) and monitor student growth to inform improvements.
• Collaborate with English leaders and teaching teams to strengthen capacity and program delivery.
• Undertake additional duties as required by the principal.
