Job summary

Megavar Pty Ltd in Adelaide seeks a Substation Testing and Commissioning Engineer to join our commissioning team. You will be responsible for commissioning activities and collaborating with design and SCADA teams across projects.

You will lead primary and secondary testing for substations, BESS and renewables across Australia, with on-site work and travel, and opportunities for senior engineers to lead teams and mentor others.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in electrical or power engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on HV commissioning experience.
• Strong knowledge of protection, control systems and standards.
• Experience with Omicron test equipment preferred.
• Willingness to travel across Australia.

Responsibilities

• Primary and secondary commissioning of substations, BESS, and renewables.
• Test and validate protection, control, and SCADA systems.
• Fault-finding and resolving issues during commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with design, protection and SCADA teams.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and network operators.
• Senior role: lead test teams and mentor junior engineers.
