Job summary

Megavar is a specialist HV engineering firm delivering testing and commissioning, substations, and maintenance across Australia. We’re seeking a Substation Testing and Commissioning Engineer to join our commissioning team.

We’re open on experience level: whether you have a few years of solid site commissioning behind you and are ready to step up, or you’re a senior engineer capable of leading commissioning on major projects, we want to hear from you — the role, title and package will be shaped

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in electrical or power engineering.
At least 3 years’ hands-on HV commissioning experience.
Strong understanding of protection and control systems and Australian standards.
Experience with Omicron test equipment is preferred.
Willingness to travel across Australia and work at project sites.

Responsibilities

Primary and secondary commissioning of transmission and distribution substations, BESS and renewable projects across Australia.
Test and validate protection, control and SCADA systems against design specs and standards.
Fault‑finding and resolving issues during commissioning with design teams and clients.
Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation: test plans, records, ITPs and reports.
Collaborate with design, protection and SCADA teams on HV projects.
Liaise with clients, contractors and network operators on technical issues.
