Job summary

Megavar Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to support HV substation primary design from concept through detailed design. You will produce diagrams, earthing, and material lists while collaborating with protection, SCADA, civil and commissioning teams on live projects.

You will contribute to design reports, power system calculations and technical proposals, building direct client relationships and progressing toward Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or power engineering required.
• 3–5 years post-graduate experience in electricity network environment preferred.
• Understanding of Australian transmission and distribution standards and codes desired.

Responsibilities

• Support HV substation primary design from concept to detailed design.
• Produce single line diagrams, HV layouts, cable sizing, earthing modelling.
• Create design reports, power system calculations and technical proposals.
• Attend site visits and collaborate with protection, SCADA, civil and commissioning teams.
• Develop client relationships and progress toward independent design responsibility.
